Staying Safe While Traveling With Diabetes

Though you have a diabetes,  you can still manage to travel as long as you are properly guided. Diabetes should not be a hinder for you to enjoy your traveling opportunities and experience.  Below are some tips that you can check if you have diabetes and is hesitant to travel.

Make sure that you do have your physician's contact information.  Consult your doctor prior to the travel in order to know if you are fit to travel. He can also provide you advise and reminders such as for emergency cases and information about local hospitals.  Have a card on your wallet that states that you have a diabetes.

Ask your physician to provide you a note stating that medical supplies like syringe and insulin should be on your carry on. Remember that it is a must that they  are on your carry-on.  Bring a glucagon  and know how to use it as well. If in case you lost your baggage, you still have them with you; however, it is also advisable that apart from having them on your carry on, have extra emergency supplies on your baggage.

Pack your own meal. Since there are restrictions with what  you should eat, it is better to bring some. They do not have to be a heavy meal as long as you do not starve during the trip.  You never know what will be served and those meals will not be good for your health.

Be ready for jet lag.  Your body might have difficulties adjusting to the new time zone and to the new routine. You can seek doctor's advise on how to adjust your  insulin rates and your pump setting. They should know what will  best work for you.

Go for your goal.  Keep going, face the challenge and enjoy life to the fullest.

A Guide To Flying Coach With Comfort

We are all aware that flying in coach is not as comfortable as flying in business class. The space is not that big, the amenities are not the same. Heck, even the food is not of the same quality. However, that does not mean that you can not be comfortable when you travel in coach.

Here are some amazing tips that can help you fly coach in comfort:
  • Use the Internet.
Today, you are given the chance to take a look at the seating of the plane. Using various websites and apps, you can be able to determine which are the roomiest seat in the plane. In addition to this, you can also check out reviews with the use of the comfort rating system for each seat.
  • Know which seats to avoid.
If you have been flying for a while now, then you most already probably have an idea about which seats are the most uncomfortable. Keep in mind that seats that are against bulkhead or those in the front row must be avoided since those seats won't fully recline.
  • Check in earlier than necessary.
When you check in earlier, you will have the liberty and the privilege to choose which seat you would like to sit in. Keep in mind that the first person to board has the right to choose the seats.
  • Pack light.
Squeezing your big luggage in between seats and the aisle of a plane is never easy. Save yourself the trouble and master the art of traveling light. Along with that, you may also wish to find the perfect luggage that will provide you easy access to the different pockets.
